Is Damolor a broker?
No, Damolor is not a stockbroker. We provide the technology that helps Nigerian parents easily invest in US stocks for their children. All trades, custody, and settlement are handled by our trusted partner, a US-regulated brokerage.
Who holds my money and my child’s investments?
Your investments are held securely with Alpaca, a FINRA-regulated and SEC-registered US broker-dealer. Damolor never has access to your money or your child’s assets.
How do I fund my Damolor account?
You deposit in Naira using our trusted payment partners. Your funds are automatically converted to USD and sent to your brokerage wallet at Alpaca.
Can I withdraw my money anytime?
Yes. You can sell your investments, convert the USD back to Naira, and withdraw to your bank account. No lock-in period. No restrictions.
What US assets can I invest in?
You can buy fractional shares of top US companies such as: Apple, Tesla, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Nvidia — and hundreds more. ETFs and additional asset classes are being added progressively.
How safe is my child’s money?
Very safe. Alpaca is a member of SIPC, which protects securities up to $500,000. We also use bank-grade encryption, secure authentication, and strict privacy protocols.
Does Damolor support more than one child?
Yes. You can add multiple child profiles under your main family account and manage them all from one dashboard.
Can I start small?
Absolutely. You can start with small monthly amounts and increase when you're ready. The goal is consistency, not perfection.
How does Damolor make money?
We earn revenue through: - A small platform fee. - Optional premium features (financial education, kid card, advanced AI insights). We do not take commissions on trades.
Is Damolor legal in Nigeria?
Yes. Damolor operates fully legally as a technology platform. All brokerage activity is handled by Alpaca in the US, under US regulation.
